Alebrije - Large Pink Rabbit Standing

Mexican alebrijes are intricate wooden sculptures painted with vibrant designs, originating from the Mexico City neighborhood of La Merced in the 1930s. They hold cultural significance, reflecting the strong indigenous heritage in Oaxaca through diverse motifs and designs inspired by Zapotec and Mixtec cultures. This rabbit demands attention wherever he goes.  Standing 22 inches tall and painted in bright pinks, reds and blues he evokes an air of frivolity.  He was created by Luis Sosa Calvo of San Martin Tilcajete, Oaxaca.

This rabbit stands 22 in (with his ears) 12 in (without), he is 9 in deep (including tail) and 3.5 in wide.  The ears and tail are removed for shipping.
