Discovered in 1900 at the Mohawk mine site on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michignan's UP, Mohawkite is a rare copper-based mineral prized for its metallic luster and striking patterns.
It is primarily composed of a mixture of arsenic, silver, nickel, skutterudite and copper. It has a hardness of 3 - 3.5.
The most desirable cut has found with a white quartz matrix. The piece has a "snowflake" pattern in the quartz matrix.
Measures approx 5 x 5 x 5 inches and is 1 cm thick, It weighs 1.02 lbs
