Fordite (46)

Fordite is a byproduct from the painting of automobiles and other products.  Periodically the machinery needed the build up of dried paint remove.  The resulting "trash" has been repurposed into cabachons for jewelry and other objects.

This piece of Fordite is from the 1970s and may include paint from cars or Kenworth trucks.  It measures 2 3/4” by 1 3/4” and approx 1/16” thick.

 It is possible the paint may contain lead and is therefore not recommended for any object worn or play with by a young child.
